Mainline & Sewer Stoppages in San Jose, CA
A main line stoppage is every drain in the house backing up at once. We clear the main sewer line, then diagnose it so it does not repeat.
Questions people ask
How do I know the main sewer line is clogged?
More than one fixture is involved: toilets gurgle, or water comes up in the tub or shower when the washer drains or a toilet flushes. If only one sink or tub is slow, it is a branch line, and that is a drain cleaning job.
What should I do while the main line is backed up?
Stop using water anywhere in the house until it is cleared: no washer, dishwasher or showers. With the main line stopped, that water has nowhere to go but up the lowest drain.
How do you clear a main sewer line?
Through the sewer cleanout. If the house has none, or nobody can find it, every sewer call starts slower than it should, which is why a property line cleanout is worth having.
Why does my main line keep backing up?
In older San Jose houses it is usually roots getting into clay pipe joints, or grease coating the pipe wall. A camera inspection shows which one, and it is free with a full price drain clearing on our Specials page.
Water where it should not be?
Call and describe what you are seeing. If it can wait until morning, we will say so.
